Corvettes line up at the border |

Temora weekend May 2011 |
|
Our Secretary, Nicole, organised a fantastic run to Temora to see the planes flying at the Aviation Museum. This is a really impressive facility and the flying days are well worth the trip.
We gathered at the border nice and early and it was easy to tell the cars with heaters—they had smiling passengers. With promises of sunshine ahead, we headed off towards Yass.
Unfortunately, the fog was pretty persistent so it was bracing run for those of us who don’t bother with luxuries like heaters. After a quick morning tea in Cootamundra (and a face off with a Porsche club) we headed on to Temora in time for the start of the flying day. Once in Temora, the weather was fantastic
We were met by Paul (Nicole’s other half) as Nicole had unfortunately had to go to a family funeral. (Paul was also hosting some people from his running/drinking club, or is it a drinking/running club, and he was like someone from a romantic comedy rushing between his two dates all weekend.)
After the flying day, which included a celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the Air Force flying school at Temora and the 700th show of Sydney Weekender, we headed into town to our motel. Dinner was at the club and was followed by a really great guitar player who was in town for the night and playing at the club.
The morning consisted of the usual country breakfast followed by a really good run home.
Thanks to Nicole for all of the organisation and to Paul for hosting us when we got there.
This was a really enjoyable and relaxed run. It was a great weekend away. I encourage all members to get along to the next overnight run that we have as they are always a great time
